For a company with an infamous reputation for aping and interating on other companies' ideas, there's no way they were unaware of PotD/HoH back then. I absolutely do think what Torghast eventually became was to some extent colored by whether or not it would undermine character services of the time. The ease of leveling was as I recall not the case at the time Torghast was originally conceptualized. Level boosts only go to 50 and leveling has LITERALLY never been easier than it is right now.įirst of all the condescension is unnessecary, you can disagree without the attitude. Maybe even stuff you can't get anymore from higher levels, like mohawk grenades!īut I think any concept that potentially undermines level boost sales was doomed to be DOA from the start. A way to quickly level alts, or farm for cosmetics and/or mounts. I would have been happy if it was what people were hoping for from the start - Blizzard's answer to Palace of the Dead from FF14. Torghast was dead-on-arrival as "fun" content as soon as they made it mandatory. It is still missed potential and it still hasn’t received the love and attention it needs to turn it into something great.Īnd with them completely ignoring it in 9.1.5, it feels like they have already given up on trying to make it better. Are they still bad? And I’ve heard warlocks have a hard time soloing because the normal white melee damage of mobs scales to the point that pets are getting punched to death in just a couple hits.Īnyway, I said this at launch of 9.0 and it’s still true now… Torg has potential to be a really great game mode. I don’t play a warrior or rogue but I heard those needed love at launch in 9.0. I’m sure there are other classes that could use some love too. They just get utility like crazy which isn’t super useful when boss health scales per floor.
Hunters don’t have any build options that ramp their output to ludicrous. Give them some powers that aren’t tied to tar trap or kiting mobs. Whoever did the anima power design for Death Knights needs to be given the Hunter class. 9.1.5 seems like the perfect patch to make additional changes to it. I can’t believe they still haven’t fixed the bad Torg classes.
